Armed with several identities, the self-acclaimed workoholical MC/DJ/producer Otis Jackson Jr. creates the finest crate-dug beats, self-produced vintage jazz and astrotravelling rap. His father was an accomplished r & b session musician who played with the likes of David Axelrod and H.B. Barnum. His uncle is Jon Faddis, a legendary trumpeter who played with Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, and Bob James. Following in the footsteps of his family, Madlib is in the studio for up to ten hours a day, creating albums every three days with a distinct unique sound.
