The unofficial title of this album is Dirty Demos selected by the Loop Digga, a reference to a fire which destroyed some of this album's master tapes - a story detailed in the CD's 12-page booklet. The CD cover is by Isabel Samaras, LP illustrations by Gustavo Eandi, and design by Jeff Jank.

Most of these Instrumentals were only available on the Show Vinyl pressed up by ATCQ themselves so I'm not sure whose behind releasing these? If I had to guess I would say these were all taken off the Show Vinyl from their first 4 albums and repressed up on Vinyl & CD! All good tho, it beats paying a few bills at least for one of the actual Test Pressings if your lucky to ever come across one. I've saw The Low End Theory Show Vinyl on Ebay but only Side C & D and it went for a few hundred. Sometime later I saw Aaron from The Tune Up who had the Beats Rhymes & Life Show Vinyl that was given to a friend of his from Ali Shaheed Muhammad. That didn't even last a day on Ebay so I assume he received an offer he couldn't refuse for it. Let's hope there will be a Vol 3 as I still need the Buggin' Out, 8 Million Stories & Keep It Rollin' Instrumentals...

She was 80.Lincoln recorded more than 20 albums, acted in films, and became a leading voice in the civil rights movement during her six-decade career.She passed away in Manhattan, the New York Times reported.Her first album was called Abbey Lincoln's Affair—A Story of a Girl in Love and became an instant success. College Student Shot Because She Would Not Give Man Her Phone Number

A young college student claims she was shot by a man because she refused to give him her phone number.The young woman, whose identity has been protected, told police she was leaving a party in southeast Washington early Sunday when a man asked for her number.“He told my cousin he was going to shoot at us if I didn't give him my number and then he started shooting,” she told authorities.

One of those bullets struck the student as she ran away.

FDA nears approval of genetically engineered salmon

They may not be the 500-pound "Frankenfish" that some researchers were talking about 10 years ago, but a Massachusetts company says it is on the verge of receiving federal approval to market a quick-growing Atlantic salmon that's been genetically modified with help from a Pacific Chinook salmon.

Though genetically engineered crops such as corn and soybeans have been part of the American diet for several years, if the Food and Drug Administration approves it, the salmon would be the first transgenic animal headed for the dinner table.

"I would serve it to my kids," said Val Giddings, who worked as a geneticist at the U.S. Agriculture Department for a decade before becoming a private consultant.

The financial rewards could be enormous.

Aquaculture is already an $86 billion-a-year business, with nearly half of all fish consumed globally farm raised. As wild stocks dwindle and the world's population heads toward 9 billion, fish farmers will be looking for fish that will be market-ready quicker.

Even so, skeptics abound.

Fears persist about possible health risks from genetically modified food in general, but concerns about bioengineered salmon also extend to the environment.

Obama Calls for Pentagon “Civilian Component” (DRAFT)

WITH AMERICAS MILITARY IS SPREADING VERY THIN AND LOSING MANY MEMBERS DUE TO DEATH, TO MANY WORLD WIDE WARS AND BASES, AND UNINTEREST (JUST LIKE THE ANCIENT ROMAN EMPIRE), AMERICA IS SEEKING ANOTHER WAY TO GET MEMBERS...

Once again, Obama has called for a civilian component to work with the Pentagon.

Speaking at a town hall event in Racine, Wisconsin, on July 31 Obama said U.S. troops are carrying too much of the burden in Iraq and Afghanistan and doing too many things that are more appropriate for civilians, such as building schools and setting up justice systems, according to the Associated Press. He called for a civilian component as large as the military.

“We just got to be smart about using all the elements of American power, not just one element of American power,” he said. “The problem is — is that we don’t have a civilian effort that has always matched up to the military effort. So the military goes in there, they clear out everything, they’re — they’re making everything secure, and now the question is, all right, can we get the civilians to come in to work with the local governments to improve the situation? And a lot of times that civilian side of it has been under-resourced.”

On the campaign trail in 2008, Obama called for a civilian national security force double the size of the Peace Corps and nearly quadruple the size of AmeriCorps and the size of the nation’s military. “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,” Obama said in Colorado Springs on July 2, 2008.

Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, has called for compulsory service for all Americans ages 18 to 25. “It’s time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, All Americans between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service,” Emanuel wrote in The Plan: Big Ideas for America.

Woman Sues Church For Performing Gay Unions

Yvonne Moore a 37 year member of the Covenant Baptist Church in Washington DC sued to get a portion of her weekly donations back ($250,000) for performing gay commitment ceremonies. She eventually dropped her lawsuit and left the church.

Gulf oil spill forces sharks, dolphins closer to beach shores as they look for safer waters

Gulf Coast animals trying to outrun the massive oil spill are running out of space. Dolphins and sharks have been showing up in the shallow waters off beaches in droves.
Other sea creatures have fled to cleaner waters, while oil-covered birds simply look for a place to die.One marine biologist likens the scene to animals fleeing a forest fire.

"There will be a lot of fish, sharks, turtles trying to get out of this water they detect is not suitable," Larry Crowder, a Duke University marine biologist, told The Associated Press.
